Orkhon University was founded in 1992 and is one of the first independent, non-profit Universities in Mongolia under the leadership of Dr. Khajidsuren Nyamaa. The University is accredited by the Mongolian National Council for accreditation in 1999 for the first time, in 2005 for the advanced level, and in 2018 using the international standard criteria developed by the council.
University comprises three schools: Law School, Business School and Humanities School forming a dynamic, modern university that is committed to the highest standards of teaching academic institution. The University is developing research centers including Center for Mongolian Language and Education and Academy of Nomadic Cultures to support research in priority fields.

OU offers 24 programs at bachelor level, 7 programs at master level and 4 programs at Ph.D. level under its 3 schools with the aim of preparing globally competitive professionals with highly qualified English skills. We are home for 2000 students and more than 8000 alumni who are leading their sectors and the country development.
Orkhon University is member of and accredited by the Mongolian National Council for Education Accreditation, a national body for higher education accreditation. The University is also a member of the Association of Universities of Asia and the Pacific and is currently serving on the executive board of AUAP.
